Uh, no, you're not the only one. I find both kinds you mentioned repulsive, but that's just me. We all have our own tastes and styles and that's what makes the world go round, right! icon_smile.gif But no, I'm with you, I have no idea whatsoever why anyone finds those kinds of cakes cute in the least bit.

I've never seen a 'pregnant belly cake'.... are they very popluar? - not something I've ever seen in UK. Maybe you could post a photo of one?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

I just made a belly cake yesterday and I think it is one that I would like to do again. You can see it in my pictures.

It is not something you see often here in the caribbean.

I am in the Bahamas and I've never had a request for anything resembling a body part, except from Americans icon_lol.gif .

Topaz176 I looked at your site and your cakes are beautiful. It sure is getting hot already!

I think the well done ones can be cute to look at... But I would NEVER be able to cut one or eat it. It's just a little too macabre for me.

I had never heard of them before I joined CC.

I definitely don't get it either icon_rolleyes.gif

I just have a hard time with the actual baby ones. I've seen some very realistic "babies" on this site, and they've been done very well -- but to take a knife to it?

i look at it like this... it's cake... it's not THAT realistic. I mean, you have people hacking into Poohs, and Elmos, and armadillos and dogs... I've seen a few cakes that do look VERY realistic, and though it would be a little harder to cut into if I had a weak stomach, cake is cake.

I admire the skill it takes to make these. They are just not my personal taste and I'd never order one for an occasion.

Me neither.

I think they look neat but wouldn't want to cut into them, reminds me to much of my 4 c-sections! icon_lol.gif

I think they are adorable, but like others, I do not think I would be able to cut into one or eat it.

LOL. I guess I have to disagree with you all. It's just a cake. Who cares that it's a belly cake?
