Years ago, I knew a lady that made THE BEST decorated cookies. They were pale yellow in color (almost white, if you will) and had a nice sweet flavor. They also held their shape very well. It was almost as if she didn't bake them at all, though I know she did.
Sorry I probably didn't give enough details, but does anyone know of a recipe that would achieve these results? Every time I make sugar cookies (NFSC) the dough is not very light, therefore the cookies aren't light. I've tried a few different things with NF, such as baking for a shorter amount of time, but it's just not what I'm looking for. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it!
TIA!!
Shortbread cookies don't change shape and are light in color.

Jan, thank you so much! I had actually thought about shortbread, but wasn't sure it was what I was looking for. I think I'll try it anyway...it may be my new favorite recipe!!
You're very welcome, s_barnes76.
Hope one of the recipes works out for you. Look forward to seeing pics of your decorated cookies.
