Years ago, I knew a lady that made THE BEST decorated cookies. They were pale yellow in color (almost white, if you will) and had a nice sweet flavor. They also held their shape very well. It was almost as if she didn't bake them at all, though I know she did.

Sorry I probably didn't give enough details, but does anyone know of a recipe that would achieve these results? Every time I make sugar cookies (NFSC) the dough is not very light, therefore the cookies aren't light. I've tried a few different things with NF, such as baking for a shorter amount of time, but it's just not what I'm looking for. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it!

Jan, thank you so much! I had actually thought about shortbread, but wasn't sure it was what I was looking for. I think I'll try it may be my new favorite recipe!!
