I just got to start to try fondant (mmf) and it is sticking to the table. what can i do? I have tried on the table, on a mat and on wax paper what can i do?

Edit: Thank God for husbands! When he got home I told him what was happening and he told me he read to put cornstarch on the table to stop it from sticking. Problem solved! icon_smile.gif

Personally, when i'm rolling out fondant to cover my cakes I use shortening on my mat, and then for fondant pieces I use constarch. Not sure if this is correct, but its worked for me so far.

I still had some trouble with the fondant sticking to the cutters and even the roller occasionally. I'll try shortening next time as I had to use a LOT of cornstarch to keep it from sticking and still even had a couple small spots stick.

She's right a little shortening really does help.
