I just made the "Shirley Temple" (WASC) recipe and have an extra 9" layer I'd like to save to use under a doll cake (to make the wonder mold tall enough for Barbie) next weekend. If I make this recipe again, will it be "durable" enough for the wonder mold? I've used just plain mixes in the wonder mold lots of times with no problems. The 9" layers I just made seem very soft, though, so I'm not sure this recipe will do very well in the wonder mold. Is there anything I should add or do to this recipe to make it better for this? Here's the recipe I just used...

Shirley Temple
2 white cake mixes
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1 1/2 t salt
1 pkg white chocolate pudding mix (may be omitted)
2 c diet lemon-lime soda
2/3 c marashino cherry juice
2 c vanilla yogurt
8 egg whites
1/4 c oil
2 t vanilla
1 t lemon extract
1 dram LoRann cherry (might only require 1/2 tsp since this a strong flavor)

BTW, I halved this recipe but accidentally dumped a whole pkg of the pudding mix in. I just went with it; I doubt it made a difference, I'm not sure. Also, is there a reason to use diet soda? I didn't.
