Can anyone tell me what does the category Amish/Mennonite in the recipes pages means???
Thank you!!!!
They are a regilious 'group' and bake/cook almost everything fresh - from scratch
It means to some people it is a super good recipe.
This is a group of people who try to live a "plain" life. They originated from German and I think Dutch ancestors, so their recipes have a German/European flair and often German names for their food.
Definitely not diet or lite fare, they tend to use butter like Paula Deen! Fried apple fritters, pretzels slathered with butter and salt. Delicious, but fattening.
