My co-worker is going to be retiring at the end of the month. I'm going to be making a suitcase cake for her last day. I want to make "suitcase stickers" out of fondant and use edible markers to decorate them. My question is this, should I wait for the fondant to dry out before trying to write on them or is it possible to do it before? Does that make sense at all? Also, would you apply them to the cake before decorating them or decorate them first and then apply to the cake? LOL. TIA!!

I've always let them dry then write on them and then put them on the cake. Hope this helps.

I would let the fondant dry or harden before writing on it. It makes it eaier to write on and also easy to lift and apply to the cake without the fondant changing shape from being soft. I would definately decorate the cake first but keep in mind where you want to place the stickers.

Hope this helps.
