I want to attempt a tiered pillow cake and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions or advice. I've never made a pillow cake, but saw the instructions in the article section here on CC. Does anybody have any other methods?

The photos I have seen here on CC are amazing and would just LOVE to be able to make one!!!

use a denser cake icon_biggrin.gif at least that's what I learned, I used a chocolate cake for one tier and a strawberry cake in another and I almost broke the strawberry one XD. I would say to just go for it, I used google to find a tutorial but that was before I really started searching this site; oh and make sure you carve the points to be pointer then you want them and when you add fondant and buttercream they'll be a tad more round.

I'm not a professional but this worked for me, so just have fun icon_biggrin.gif.

thanks for the advice. What about stacking? Any tricks?

I used the bubble tea straws and just cardboard. I obviously had to cut the cardboard after covering so I could see the size I needed, but the cake held up after the fondant was on both sides so it wasn't terribly wobbly.
