It was my son's 5th birthday. He loves all things cowboy so I found a hat to make , it was so cute and looked easy. I made the brim a week ahead of time, but when it came time to put the cake together the brim fell down flat, it looked hideous. I tried to fix it but all I succeeded in doing was ruining it. It crumbled to pieces, then I did too. icon_cry.gif
My mother-in-law had to get cupcakes from...Walmart! icon_redface.gif
the kids didnt care though.

ohhhhh I am so sorry. I know it seems like a waste but I always make extra of any fondant gumpaste items just in case I mess one up.

What did you make the brim out of? It would be best out of gumpaste (or a mix of fondant and gumpaste)

I'm sorry that happened. It's so disappointing when you work hard on something and it doesn't come out. At least the kids were happy with their cupcakes and it sounds like your son had a good time. I'm sure your next cake will be super!

I so know how you feel. It's happend to me. Don't worry next time it'll come out better beacuse you won't make the same mistake you made this time around.
