I'm wanting to make a pair of goal posts & thought that maybe, since gumpaste dries hard I could cover a couple of straws with it, then stick them together when it's dry.

Would you roll it out thinly & then wrap it around if you see what I mean, blending the join so it's not so visible?

or is there another, easier way of covering something like a straw?
