I uploaded a photo of this cake earlier today and i just didn't like the way it looked it is my very first wedding cake and i wanted it to be perfect I hated the 6in cake on top it and i knew if i did not redo it i wouldn't be able to sleep tonight so as much as i hated to have to make more daises i did it and i think it looks better. what do you think?

I like the both but the after picture I like the best. I think the bow helps too. It's a gorgeous cake, don't mess with perfection. I love it just the way it is.

Great job for your first wedding cake! That is A LOT of daisies!!!
I do like the after one better. I think it looks a little more refined.

I like the "after" better as well, not that the "before" was anything to sneeze at!
Great job thumbs_up.gif

Yep, the top layer was too busy in the first one, and now you've solved that.
The second cake is a lot better! The vertical stripes add height and elegance.
Nice job!
I gotta compliment you on sticking it out and going the extra mile to do this right!
You won't regret it at all!

I also agree that I like the overall polished look of the second one more than the first but they are both beautiful. Very nice daisies, that must of taken a lot of work making all of them. Very nice job

Both are absolutely lovely. With the changes you've created 2 entirely different cakes. The "before" seems to have more of a "country" feel while the after seems like a French style. Guess I'm the odd man out - the "before" is my favorite.

I really do like them both, but my only question is- what is the bride expecting her cake to look like? Did you do a sketch which looked like the original cake which she approved? If so, even though it's gorgeous, she might not be too pleased that you changed the design last minute.

That is a beautiful cake, I love the after. Although the before looks nice. You really nailed it the second time. Nice work. I want to make this cake, I have been wanting to do a yellow cake. Lovely!

i like the after but mainly because of the angle and the lighting of the picture.

i gotta ask... how many daisies did you have to make???

They are both pretty - just different styles - as another poster mentioned. I do prefer the 2nd cake.

I think it's fantastic that you were able to see the first cake, decide that you weren't happy, and then make the changes.

Nice work.
