Is there somewhere I can look to figure out how many batches of Buttercream I need to make for a 2 layer 10, 8, and 6 in circle?

I never measure icing in cups (do you guys really do that? icon_confused.gif ) but I 'measure' what I'll need on number of cake mixes or number of cake batter batches.

Over time, I've learned that a cake for 100 uses 7 cake mixes and I use about four 2-lb bags of p.sugar to ice and decorate this cake, usually with a little left over. So it's easy for me to figure a cake for 250 would use about 10-12 bags of sugar (100 x 2.5 = 250 ..... 4 bags x 2.5 = 10). A 12x18 sheet cake, which uses 3 cakes mixes, would use about 2 bags of sugar.

By knowing the ratio of sugar to cake mixes, it's easy to figure out about how much to buy/make. Of course, any leftover is easily stored until next time, so I never worry about making too much.
