Hi,
I need some help. My niece is graduating from chef school. I need to make a carved chef hat. I can't find any instructions. Can someone help me.
Thanks.

I would do an extra tall cake and cover it with fondant. One piece around the bottom 1/4 and single strips to make pleats going up the top 3/4 with a round piece cut for the top.

funny. I recently read a blogspot on a chef hat cake...

It's not my favorite overall, but it gives you something to base your ideas on. I like one I've seen out on Flicker... let me see if I can find that one.

As well, if you want to do a traditional cake and fashion the hat part out of RKT that might work as well.
