I have struggled with sugarshack's icing. I finally got some hi ratio, some coffeemate and some good flavoring. OK, let's try again. Oh hey, I have a beater blade, let's try that too! One more element in the set up: I have a 5 qt KA stand mixer.
From past disasters, I knew not to use 5lbs of icing sugar since for some reason I can't make it fit and 4lbs is enough to cover the blade. In everything goes, just like it says so in the instructions. THEN, the beater blade starts 'throwing' icing out of the bowl. Oh, I just need to scrape it all down and all will be well. Scrape scrape scrape. Scrape scrape scrape. Argh!
Beater blade off, regular blade on. Ahhhhhh, all is better. The icing now looks great. Yay!
Am I the only one who has had this happen?
Thanks so much for posting this. I am trying Sugarshack's icing next and am buying a beater blade. I'm glad to know NOT to use it with this recipe, lol!
