I have never been able to make a good scratch cake. Never. The closest I came was making a WASC and all you scratch bakers out there know that that's NOT a real scratch cake. (I see you wagging your fingers)
Yesterday I thought of a post I had seen a while back where a few people had mentioned the recipe on the Hershey cocoa box. I tried it. It is AWESOME. A chocolate cake to rival all chocolate cakes. Seriously, fantastic. My cake caved in the middle but I think that was a baking error on my part. I just piled on more icing in the middle! (White chocolate SMBC)
If anyone needs a new chocolate cake recipe to try, I recommend this one!
I'm my family's "Texas Sheet Cake" maker and it uses Hershey's Cocoa in the cake and frosting. I bet the taste of your cake is pretty similar to mine, and yes you're right...it is to die for! (might have to make one today now you got me hungry for one...lol)
