My favorites are the Pirate cake/cupcakes I did and the mermaid cake. None of mine are as good as other people on here though so I guess its hard to expect anything LOL

My favorite cake was for my grandson's birthday last year. He had a Mario party and was thrilled with his cake. It's so cute to hear him brag about that cake. I just made a chess cake for my DH's birthday. I thought it turned out well, but.......

This is my undernoticed cake and I think it was the best cake I have ever done. I only took two cake classes at the time of this cake. It was for my sister's 45 birthday and took me nearly a week of long nights to make the flowers.

There used to be another thread along these lines before "The Crash" ... I love threads like these icon_smile.gif. One of my favorites, which took me forever to do, was a castle cake for my little girl. I hadn't decorated a cake board for it, or made the presentation of it what it should be at the time I took the picture, and my methods were more primitive, so it kind of makes sense that it didn't really get any attention at the time, but here it is ...

Well.... I love your cake " hallow3" !! It's really beautiful! I really like the way you draped your scarf and the ends of it.

If you don't mind sharing and explain how on earth you made your scarf? Mind never turns out so well....

Thanks
Rhonda

Rhonda19. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. It was funny I had to go back and look at the cake to see what I did. LOL The scarf was MMF and I rolled the scroll from wilton on it and just draped it over on the side of the cake, cut it where the basket started and just "tuck" in to look like it was under the basket. I made colored BC to match and just piped it on with a regular tip.I did the other side the same way. I hope I explained this ok.

Is it ok if I post cupcakes? I want to post the dog cupcakes because these are the best cupcakes I've done. My family and friends said they were so cute, and the kids were thrilled and said they were yummy and asked when I was going to go back to their class to bring more lol. They took me a long time to do, and I'm happy with the way they came out. But here they kinda went unnoticed, so here it is...

I love threads like these - thx!

My undernoticed cake was for my Dad's 65th B-Day but was a bit "girlie" in design.

http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1263989

I think it went pretty much unnoticed because it was a single tier (and not that tall either) and was pretty basic in design but at the time it was a big deal for me and I was SO proud of it lol - especially the chinese character (our surname) on top because I hand molded it.

I love this thread too! What beautiful cakes you all make.

I am so new to all of this, but my favourite cake would have to be the princess castle I did for my daughter's 4th birthday in February. I planned it out for weeks looking at hundreds of pictures and it took me the better part of a week to make.

That cake is what really gave me the decorating bug. Now I am addicted and want to learn as much as I can.

My faourite has to be the carousel cake I made for my sisters wedding. It was so out of the ordinary for a British wedding Cake and so much love went into designing and planning it.

My cake/cakes are not so much unnoticed, more that I could never log onto CC to post them in my photo album. I gave up a couple years back. If I did manage to get on, I'd get a half page that looked normal, the other half said this page cannot be found! Sooo, I quit trying. But, since they've done the latest makeover for CC, things have been working great. (knock on wood!)

This is not so much my favorite cake, its more my "wow, I actually did it cake!" I've not done much in the way of wedding cakes at all, pretty well all my cakes are for children so this one was quite the challenge. Its not perfect like some of the beauties I see on here, but, I was quite pleased with what I managed to do.

All of your "undernoticed" cakes are great! I'm so glad people do these threads. My daughter's 1st birthday cake was one of my favorites and I thought it would more attention than it did. This cake was huge...two 10" rounds and large rk top.

I would have to say that the very last cake I did was my favorite cake. It took so long to make the flowers and I was sooo proud of it. I dont really expect to much cause I know people are bussy and I dont get much time to look through cakes either cause I have 3 kids, trying to start business and I have an 8 year old gymnest so I spend too much time in the gym. I think that there a lot of beautiful cakes on this site (so much talent) so it dont bother me im still a begginer. Anyway here it is

I've looked at everyone's cake that was linked/posted before this response, and they are all great. It amazes me how many cakes are uploaded on CC on a daily basis. Depending on the time of day, etc., that you upload your cake, you may get less attention than other times. I am thankful to have found this site and I get much inspiration and help from all of you ladies, professional or newbie. I'm relatively new and it is only a hobby as I have a full time job. I don't post every single cake, but I try to post when I can. I tend to do a lot of flowery, girlie cakes as I guess that's what I most like doing. I think some of my cakes are considered ordinary or even "dated" in their design because I don't do a lot of fondant and more trendy type of designs. Having said that, I do those because that's what I like doing. I like the old, romantic style of design. One of my favorites recently was a cake for a bridal shower with the theme of "home and garden." It was delicious, so I hear! That's the most important thing. icon_biggrin.gif

I loved this cake. I liked the colors together and how much fun it was to make. I had a customer order a guitar cake, I have never done one. She wanted the colors purple and black. This is what I came up with. I only posted it yesterday but I guess I just wish people had liked as much as I did. HaHa. It is one of my favs that I have done.

This is another one I did yesterday that I really liked. It didn't get many responds. I had a great time this weekend with cakes. These two were two of my favorites and I feel like some of my better work.

Before I post my favorite "unnoticed" cake, I do want to say that I am very aware that CC gets SO many pictures uploaded every day and I never feel miffed or slighted if my photos don't get looked at or commented on. I have enjoyed looking at everyone's cakes here and learning so much!

This cake was made for my daughter's 2nd birthday and all the painting on the fondant took hours! It was my first time painting the fondant like this and I was very proud of how Mr. Pooh turned out!
