Someone started a cake-related thread like this a while ago, and I really enjoyed seeing everyone's favorite pictures from the galleries. (I love combing through the photos on here, but let's be honest ... I rarely have the time to do it as much as I'd like.) I saw a lot of cakes I may not have come across otherwise ...

So I thought it would be neat to start a cookie-related thread like that one. icon_razz.gif I'll start the ball rolling ...

Those are just a few of my favorites. There are so many talented people on here!

I think all the work here on CC is fabulous, from the very, very newbie, who's trying their heart out, to cookie pros like GeminiRJ, who has taken 3-D to the next level (first one who came to mind).

I agree, anything by Fairytale is amazing!! I've been working with the fondant cookies (dresses and garden themes) lately and I hope to get some done soon to upload the pix. I recently took a class on dimensional painting which is similar to the work Fairytale does -- that looks gorgeous on a cookie!! icon_biggrin.gif

Another one who does amazing work with cookies is the CC member Kraach. She brings gingerbread to a whole new level!! And her detail work is unsurpassed!! icon_biggrin.gif

Kraach is the other one I was trying to think of. Her work reminds me of Ukrainian Pysanky, which I occasionally still make at this time of year.

Another cookie artist whose work I love is CC member Didemy. Such beautiful creations! icon_biggrin.gif

CookieMeister Posted 26 Mar 2009 , 4:48pm

I have so many favorites - some are simple but unique and some are just downright complex! It's amazing the different skills and talents you can bring to cookie making.

Here's a couple of my faves:

yankeegal Posted 26 Mar 2009 , 7:34pm

Here are my all time favorites:

No one does better food/drink cookies than kneadacookie!

This is one of my favorite cookies-ever!!! JenWhitlock took a simple cutter and transformed it into something really special!

l could post numerous pics of Antonia74's cookies as my favorites, but the lemon-cutter baby faces rank as the cutest!

Gemini has conquered her own little part of the cookie world-love these ones especially!

I have most of Tracy's cookies in my favorites as well and it was really hard to pick just one!

Another artist that makes it sooo difficult to pick just one favorite-but this is my fav of bakinccc.

This site is filled with sooo many talented decorators-I could have posted 2 or 3 pages more!!

cylstrial Posted 27 Mar 2009 , 1:42pm

Like bob said, Fairytale is amazing!!

HeidiCrumbs Posted 27 Mar 2009 , 5:01pm

I tried doing a member search for the few names I haven't heard of since I joined and it just takes me to the very beginning, with the user names that have numbers in them. Could someone post a link of a picture of these memebers so I can get into their other pictures? TIA!

When you click on "Member list" it will open the search page. Type in the name you wish to search for. That person's name will come up, and if you click on it, their profile page will pop up. In the lower right corner will be a thumbnail of their latest photo. Click on the "view more photos" and it should open their album. I hope I made some sense!

As for my favorite cookies...I'm a computer idiot and can't seem to attach the photos of the ones I've saved into my favorites. When I first started looking at cookies on CC, the two decorators I wanted to emulate most were kneadacookie and yankeegal. They really opened my eyes as to what you could do with a cookie. Lately, there have been so many talented cookie artists who have joined....it's almost impossible to pick a favorite!

I just saw this thread. I am so honored to be mentioned and am delighted you like my work. I broke my right hand on Easter and am now sporting an obnoxious purple cast. Had to reschedule a cookie decorating class I was supose to teach (frown). No cookies for me until the end of may (another big frown). Thank you for really making my day. icon_biggrin.gif

JillK Posted 26 Apr 2009 , 3:23pm

Fairytale, so glad this thread helped a little! That stinks. icon_sad.gif

Where do you teach cookie classes? I doubt I'm so fortunate as to have them anywhere near me ... icon_rolleyes.gif

I pretty much love everything amisfud does.

I absolutely love all the detail that went into these.

I love all the different colors and the vibrant look of these.

I think I have most of TracyLH's photos in my favs!

I LOVE how these turned out.

Bakincc is another one of my favorite artists.

These are just a few that weren't mentioned before

JudyDP Posted 28 Apr 2009 , 6:25am

Thanks. icon_smile.gif It's frustrating not to be able to make anything. Can hardly wait until I'm back to normal.

Elise87 Posted 28 Apr 2009 , 12:22pm

I just started decorating my first cookies this week and was pretty fun and here they are:

(My first ones)

(This is a test cookie, i am going to make a batch of them in a couple of days)

Pebbles13 Posted 28 Apr 2009 , 6:11pm

Elise - you did a fantastic job on your cookies thumbs_up.gif Look below at what you have to look forward to!

It was hard to narrow this down because I have 11 pages of favorites from the many, many talented cookie decorators here on CC. Here are just a few of my favorite cookie pics:

TracyLH...what can I say? She's just a little cookie rock star! Her fondue cookies are amazing!

SweetDreamsAT...her work is so beautiful. She can layer a cookie like no other! Take a look at these oranges!

bakinccc...her cookies are so well-done. She usually keeps them pretty simple, but they are so clean and always stand out. These are the cutest sea creatures!

yankeegal...I could look at her cookie pics all day. She puts an amazing amount of detail into them. Check out her beauty cookies!

kneadacookie...I don't know how she does it, but her cookies look like they jumped out of a book. The colors are so vivid, and here is probably my favorite cookie pic here on CC. Get ready to see the cutest farm animals ever!
(I told you they were cute icon_wink.gif ) (She won the blue ribbon at the State Fair for these)

GeminiRJ...she adds a different "dimension" with her trademark 3D cookies, but you also have to check out her "mad piping skillz" icon_biggrin.gif ! You'll be so impressed with her Easter eggs!

JenWhitlock...she is one of the first people I reached out to for help when I started making cookies, and is the nicest lady ever! She also does beautiful cakes, but this series of cookies is wonderful. It is her "Year of Trees" fair cookies...and yes, she won 1st place!

antonia74...She mastered her royal icing recipe, then was kind enough to share it with all of us! Thank you, thank you, thank you! She is a super-talented decorator of cakes and cookies and it was hard to pick a favorite, but I always go back and look at her precious Baby Shower cookies. You're going to love them, too!

So, these are a few of my favorites. I look forward every day to see each and every one of the cookies posted. I am inspired by all that I see, and appreciate the time and effort you all put into your cookies.

Your cookie friend,
Tricia icon_smile.gif

Elise87 Posted 29 Apr 2009 , 1:23am

oh whoops i thought it was post OUR cookie photo's! Just realised, sorry lol icon_redface.gif Thanks pebbles, n yes i have fun looking at other people cookie photos on here some are just so amazing. Havn't had a chance to do a cake in awhile so started doing some cookies in the mean time, i want to start exploring more with fondant and royal icing on them and doing really intricate details. Thanks for the inspiration everyone icon_biggrin.gif

cylstrial Posted 2 May 2009 , 8:17pm

Pebbles13 - what do you use for your cookie background? Your backgrounds always look so good (along with your wonderful cookies)!

Pebbles13 Posted 2 May 2009 , 8:44pm

Hi cylstrial!
Thanks so much for the compliment! That is so sweet of you icon_smile.gif
I use scrapbook paper for most of my backgrounds and place a piece of non-glare clear acetate (the same stuff used to make cookie templates) on top of the paper so the cookie doesn't stain it. TracyLH taught me this thumbs_up.gif
Hope this helps!

glendaleAZ Posted 4 May 2009 , 6:33am

Hi All,

Well, I just started looking at the cookie gallery yesterday, and WOW, cookie decorating has really come a long way. I'm amazed at how beautiful and creative cc'ers are at decorating cookies.

Here's a few cookies that I feel in love with -- in the last 24 hours.

Great thread for a cookie newbie!!!!! icon_eek.gifthumbs_up.gif
