Is Gumpaste Edible

Ok maybe it was really late at night...I read on some `site that GUMPASTE IS not edible....also can i use mmf to make gumpaste?

Gumpaste is technically edible... the real question is whether you would want to eat it lol. Some recipes/brands taste better than others, but most are pretty much BLAH. Also, depending on what you've made and how thick it is, once the gumpaste is fully dried, you might break a tooth trying to bite in! With delicate things like flowers and such, you can eat them. The paste recipe I use for flowers (it's a little more delicate than what i use for figures and such) actually tastes quite good.

It's edible but not eatable.

Its all edible but like someone else said, you could break a tooth because the tylose or gum trag in it will make it rock hard.
Ive never made gumpaste with mmf. I dont think it would work well. You best bet is to make it either from a mix or to make it using Nick Lodge's recipe or another. Its really easy to make.
