Is there any trick to making the extremely lifelike twigs climbing up a wedding cake????? Some of them are very thin and delicate just like real twigs....

I've done some but probably not as thin as you describe. I just rolled gumpaste into snakes..... Other than that, you can always use floral wire wrapped in fondant.... just a thought.

I have a bride sending me some photos and on at least one of them they look totally real, thin with knobby bud areas and everything...

Could they be real? There must be branches that would work and be cake-safe.

I have heard of covering thin wire with icing, thinly rolled fondant, or spraying with chocolate...
