Ok, I have to let everyone know that shortening really does make a difference. I was really starting to give up on bc becuase I don't get it smooth and nice and spreadable like all the pro's here that make it look like fondant and not bc. Anyways, I walked into the cake store and bought a small 3 lb tub of Sweetex, let me tell you I have never liked cake decorating as much as I do now. This is awesome stuff! Woooohooo I'm lovin it. It makes a whole world of a difference. Now, my question is where do you get it cheaper. I paid $11 for the 3lb tub here in CA and if you brand matters or as long as it's high ratio it's all good? Please help anyone. I found this site and it's the cheapest so far and a 50lb bucket of hr is $59, yup I mean it, but it doesn't state the brand just says high ratio shortening. Any advice?
Send and e-mail to the website, ask them what brand or who the manufacturer is, then look up the brand or write to the manufacturer.
