I finally got my cookie done. I tried a new technique using buttercream frosting instead of royal. I think I will have to try the buttercream again.....I know I would like the taste of it better, cuz everything is better with butter! LOL =)

This is from a Sandra Boynton book called Philidelphia Chickens and the song/story is Please Can I keep It. Very cute song and I love the "thing" that followed the bunny home.

Oh and I just squeaked by and posted my post in April with 50 minutes to spare in my timezone! LOL.....=)

***I know they are working on cake central so if it doesn't show up I will try again tomorrow...but just remember I did post it officially in April LOL***

okay if you just get red "x's" instead of the picture try right clicking it and choosing the option "open in a new tab" and then you should be able to see them. At least that is how I am getting them to show up.

Karmen - those are great!

How did you do that? Is it rolled butter cream? Did you draw on them to get the detail?

Kneadacookie.......I adore your Hungry Caterpillar cookies.......so gosh darn adorable. My son loves that book.
I tried some cookies from Where the Wild Things Are (son's other favorite icon_smile.gif ), but I have temporarily misplaced the camera, so I'll have to post the pix late.

LOVE Sandra Boynton, and I LOVE your cookie! Excellent. I still have a phrase from one of her books running thru my head, "A bear and a hare have been to a fair...." I must've read that book a hundred times (a week) to my sons when they were little!

I spread white buttercream over the entire cookie with a table knife...let it sit for a few minutes and then came back and smoothed it with a paper towel. Piped the outline, then used a paintbrushed dipped in water and "painted"in my other colors of frosting. So the icing isn't flat, but it looks okay that way. I have it in the freezer now to see how well it will defrost , which I am thinking should be fine, because it isn't much different than a FBCT....hey creative juices flowing here.......what would stop a person from doing a FBCT onto a cookie that has been spread with a thin layer of icing? I am thinking....nothing.......

In other news my son is doing GREAT....his ESR is back down to a 7 which is completely normal. He took his first steps on his 11 month birthday and he has gained three pounds in three weeks and is back to just under the 25th percentile in weight. Amazing! The ped dr. I saw yesterday said that in 20 years of practicing she had only seen an ESR over 100 a couple of times and his had been really high at 127......he is still a bit of a mystery.

you know freddy-myd aughter was very sick when she was about 1 month old (she almost died from pertussis aka whooping cought) and while we were at the hospital they found that she had a condition/problem with her blood (mystery) but before they could find out what it was if fixed itself-weird how things work out-i'm so glad to hear about your son and that he's growing healthy again. your cookies are fantastic holy cow and those hungry caterpillers!! the food is just fantastic (how many of the caterpillers and food did you make?) i'm glad to have found out may's theme and am stumped for now but i'll figure this one out (books were easy-just too many to choose from) this has been fun and can't wait to see what's up next!!
