I've never done this before and I need to practice my fondant skills...Do I need to cover the dummy with piping gel first? How do I clean the dummy afterwards? Or do I even need to?

I just dampen the dummy, and put the fondant on ......when I'm done, I usually put it right in the kitchen sink, and wet the fondant down and peel it off.....and throw it away...... NOT DOWN THE DRAIN..... icon_lol.gif

I use piping gel on the dummy then cover with fondant. Once I'm done with it, I put it in the dishwasher and it comes out clean.
