Newbie Needs Help With Fondant

I've got to do my first fondant cake in a couple of weeks.

I've watched all the tutorials, and read all the articles, my question is

after I've rolled it out and put it on my cake - which is square incidentally- and start fitting it around how do I hide the "tucks" as I smooth it out, won't they leave big lumps.


any other words of wisdom about fondant is greatly appreciated.

You don't 'hide' tucks.......you work them out.
Just lightly pull the fondant away from the cake and smooth it down. For a sq you start the at corners.....each one.....then finish up the sides.
