I have an order for a Black Forest Cake (cherry filling) and covered in fondant. Can I used the traditional fosting for Black Forest cake (whipped cream with powdered sugar) under my fondant?

I don't think that would work, since the whipped cream has to be refrigerated and you are not supposed to refrigerate fondant. Also, I think the fondant would be too heavy on the whipped cream. HTH and good luck icon_wink.gif!

I'm sure you're right, I was just hoping with enough powdered sugar I could firm it up enough to hold the fondant. It was just a thought, I already got the customer to agree to buttercream instead, I was just hoping I could accomodate her original request...

I know what you mean. I love whipped frostings because ever since I was little I didn't care for frostings at all. So now the lighter the frosting is, the better. But I hate the fact that you can't decorate as well with whipped as you can with buttercream.

Maybe one day! icon_smile.gif
