I am starting to work on the roses for my daughter's wedding cake. I am having three different sizes of roses this is the rose bud, then I am going to have a middle size then the full bloom. Please....do these look ok??? Is there something I am doing wrong, should I be doing something different or do these look ok??? I have not added the calyx yet or any petal dust.
What is a good color to use for the calyx?? Thanks you guys!! Take Care!!
Nothing wrong with those, once you get he calyx on there you will see how beautiful they are. i would use a mossy green or a forest green.
Great work! The cake will be beautiful! Don't forget to post a photo so we can see it. BTW - when is the wedding?
They look good. Once you get the calyx on you will see how finished they will look. For green coloring for leaves and stems, I always like to get as close to the look of real foliage as possible. I have never seen a green leaf as green as the leaf green coloring gel. I add either moss green or juniper to the leaf green to make it more realistic. If you don't have those a bit of brown or black will tone it back.
Yes on the lead color hint
Take a marble size lump of pink fondant; add some green then tone it down w/some white. You probably only need a golf ball size piece total for all your calyx.
