Siany - I think you did a really good job with the pizza!
Kathy - Thank you! I came up with the idea based on the info I was given to design the cake with - it's for a 'wear blue' party, and the birthday girl loves everything beachy!
AI love the ruffle beach hut cake. !!
The pizza cake is for best friends daughter she is having a pizza slumber party so she wanted a cake that fit the theme. Never attempted food cake before. Like you say though if anyone asks for a pork pie cake I'm all over it now lol
Maisie, you must have posted while I was typing! Thank you! I found the first time I did it difficult because I used sugarpaste with Tylo in it, but this time I used 50/50 sugarpaste and flower paste and it was MUCH easier! I think boards make a huge difference, I never used to cover mine and then I realised that the big thing that was making other peoples cake look more professional was that their boards were covered where mine weren't!
Siany - Thank you!!
A well I cant move my neck, I just showered, hadn't eaten all day but I finished, and on to to cupcakes, I am pleased with it, huge amount work tho.
AI have loads to catch p on and if I hadn't how nice everyone cakes are its because'm knackered and can only say sorry, they do all look brilliant though.
AAw well done nanny it's lush! My daughter would go mad for that! I bet you're glad it's done now aren't you? My mothers day cupcakes are in the oven, decorate them in the morning then deluver them tomorrow afternoon. I am my mothers favourite child when I've made her cakes! :-)
ABatt, your cakes are beautiful. I love the beach cake too. :D
Siany, you pizza cake is great too!!! :D
Talking of food cake, I have promised my eldest son that I make a cake with all food he loves, which are all the junk food for his birthday in May!!!
I am nearly finished with the cake. Just finishing touches.
AOh Barbara, your castle cake is soooo pretty!!! Where was that bulge you were complaining about?:D
Nanny, the cake came out sooo well! It's beautiful!
Nanny - beautiful cake! Bulge....what bulge?? Simply adorable.
AWOW that's fab Nanny, well done, they are going to love it! And not a bulge in sight ;)
Love the beach hut and ruffles too, so pretty, I love that effect!
And a brilliant pizza as well, it's so amazing to see such a huge variety in what you can make out of cake
ALove the castle. I think I have to do one in June so may be picking your brains :)
Quick question, do any of you ladies know how long for and the best way to store unused hot fondant?
AHi Siany, I just store the left over sugar paste in a zip lock bag. Did you make your own sugar paste?
AWow I missed so many good cakes today.
Natt I love that beach hut cake is so creative.
Siany that pizza came is good too I love 'food' cakes but I haven't made one yet. I have made cupcakes look like burgers though they are fun.
Nannycook that castle is amazing. It makes me want to make a castle even more now - I just need to find a little girl who wants one hehe
AMaisie I'm sure your mam will love her cakes.
Natt, love love your cakes, so neat.
Bashini, I want some pics off you !
Sugarluva, dayscakes, siany and Mel, thanks for your encouraging comments, boy did I need them, honestly everyone, there were a few errors in my icing, no idea why as didnt do anything different, just finished off 42 cupcake bouquets, and my lemon number one cake, I am now sitting down and an earthquake wont move me now! Gonna send last 2 pics of my hectic day.
ASiany, I wrap mine in cling film and put it un a plastic tub. When I run out of plastic containers I just wrap it in cling film! You said hot tho didn't you? Obviously if it's hot Leave it to cool first. Does that mean you make your own then?
A I made 4 in red,1in pink and 1 in lilac.
ANanny, stop worrying! It's lush! I don't know if bashini can post pics, didn't you say you couldn't bashini? I'd love to see it tho, I'm intrigued!

ANannycook how on earth you manage to fit all those cakes into one day I will never know. I couldn't even manage that many in a month without having palpitations! I have been concentrating on one cake all week and even that has kept me busy enough!
ASugarluva, I have no idea to be honest, I had thurs and today off work and just had to get it done as back in work tomorrow, then tomorrow night just one more cake to make for mother's day, then only have 1 cake and some cupcakes next weekend.I do have a fab hubby that constantly washes up after me and feeds me from time to time.
ASo you're going back to work for a break then?!I don't know how you managed either Nanny, looks like it's "palpatations R us" here!
AYes maisie and I dont say that very often,I'm glad to be in work for a rest, ha ha.
