I have a chocolate buttercream recipe that I want to use on a cake this weekend. However, I don't want it to be so dark. Actually, I want it to be substantially lighter - light beige. Would it work to add the bright white food color to it? I have never tried to change the chocolate buttercream natural color before. I didn't want to mess it up and so I thought I'd throw this question out and see if someone has done it before. Thanks!

Without seeing the recipe you may want to use a little less of the chocolate test it by adding a little at a time and see what color you like. I hope that helps.
