How Do They Do That Effect?

I was wondering how to get the effect on the top of the cake. The one where there is the little wave pattern. I was sitting here debating. Do you roll out the original color and the re-appy the new color and hold it in place by using RI on the seams?

From what I can see, the top tier is covered whole with green fondant. The light brown part is a layer above - wrapped around. And the white part is thin long roll of fondant on top of it.
You wouldn't usually need RI. If the green layer isn't completely dry, you can simply press the other layers on it or mist the brown part a little. This should hold.
