I just got a request from a bride that wants red velvet cake. . .no problem.

I just made a delicious scratch red velvet cake and would want to use that recipe for her cake. . .no problem.

I don't think that the cake would be able to handle the weight of the fondant that her design requires.

It's on www.pinkcakebox.com. It's white with black flower and swirly stencils on it.

Any suggestions? I did tell her that I may be able to do white buttercream with a black outline of similar flowers and swirls with pink highlights, like she wants. Similar effect, but not the same. . .I am sure that she won't want to pay for the fondant. She may surprise me, though.

Not sure which RV recipe you're using, but I don't see why a RV cake couldn't withstand being fondant covered, an angel food cake maybe, but a RV cake should be fine.
