I am hoping for your help. I took the first and second wilton course (which is why I fell in love with cake decorating), and since have taken most of my classes with cake supply stores. There is still alot I have to learn and I know this, but I also think that I am pretty good at it. Soo my question is-what is your hiring practice? What are some things that you expect from an employee? I am thinking of inquiring about a job at a bakery close to my house, and I figure even if I have to start by running the register or doing "front of house" stuff; maybe I can intern doing the cake decorating stuff- possibly even help out when they get overloaded. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Thanksicon_smile.gif

I've never hired anyone to help me before but if I were to hire someone I would expect them to bring a portfolio with them to the interview. Besides that I would require the potential employee to be easy to work with, reliable, trustworthy and have a sense of style.
