I am in the process of trying to find good cocoa powder that isn't horribly unaffordable and am wondering what everyone uses and where to order from. I have a baker's supply in town who says she thinks she has ADM brand cocoa powder 50 lbs for $107 which seems like a decent deal, but I have no idea if that kind of cocoa powder is even any good.

I get mine from Dawn in 50 pound bags. It runs anywhere from $135 - $150 and it is dark and wonderful.

We use scharfenbarger and felchlin. It is not inexpensive. I get it from Swiss Chalet or Cornucopia.

Health food store. They give me their "at cost" price, since I used to work there. I can buy it in smaller, affordable amounts.
Fair trade, organic dutch cocoa. icon_smile.gif

I get mine at a food wholesale place here. It is about $4 a lb but it is wonderful. I am working with Sysco right now to see what they can get for me.

Sysco minimum orders are going up to $1000, so you might not want to get really attached to anything they have. We have also found Sysco customer service to stink IN SPADES!!!!!!! icon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gificon_mad.gif

I most often use Cacao Barry which I get from a local supply for roughly $15 for a 1kg bag (about 2.2 pounds). Not cheap, by any means, but the flavor makes it worth every penny... the only other type I use is Callebaut, which is the parent company of Cacao Barry, but the flavors are definitely different.
