I am using Jolly Rancher sticks for the Emerald City on an 8" cake. First of all does anyone know how to stick them together? I am using 7 or 8 of them and I want them to stick to each other side by side. I used piping gel already to hold them together but it is not working too well. I also am concerned that it is going to be really heavy once I stand it up on the cake. So, if you have any ideas on how I might stand it up and not tear my cake! I would appreciate it! icon_smile.gif I am open to any suggestions you might have, please give detailed descriptions! Thanks! This cake is going to be delivered next Saturday 3-14-09. icon_biggrin.gif

Did you try just plain water yet? Another idea is to heat a knife over the stove flame and rub it on the edge of one to just sliiiiiiiiiightly melt it a bit, just enough to make it sticky and receptive to the one you are going to stick it to. Just a thought; I've only used JR's once but I melted them completely in order to pull them into a shape.
