I happened to catch a glimpse of this technique on a DVRed 2004 Pastry National Challenge so I googled "using sugar sticks in hot glue gun" and thought that you all would be interested in a couple of the links (google it yourself and each link has some offshoot links to some great sites):

note: personally I think they "cooked" the sugar too long theres a perfect temp before it turns brown...but neat tips though

You can even create your own molds! Anyway the uses are endless I even noticed where someone "hot sugar glued" M&Ms 3ft tall (one strand tall). Another use could be for the Wedding Cake Challenge when all the sugar pieces come in (use this method to assemble) - had to write this here since that topic is locked.

wouldnt it be a great idea if GlobalSugarArt carried sugar glue sticks?
