I'm making a a tequila bottle cake and thought I could mold the neck out of Rice Krispie treats, so I bought a box of them. Is there anything special to do so that I can mold them into shape, like heating in the microwave? Or can I just use them right out of the box?

just use them right out of the wrapper... a little less cost effective but I SO prefer the boxed to homemade. Easy, breezy! icon_lol.gif

I will only use store bought. I'm Rice Krispie Challenged. Cannot make them to save my life.

I just open them up and get right to it- no shortening or butter.

Thanks so much to everyone for the info. icon_biggrin.gif I've never used them before, and wasn't sure how to proceed, but now I know!

So am I!!! I have always felt like such a failure for that! I mean, come on, I can follow and execute some really difficult cake recipes --but I can't get a RKT to come out right???? icon_cry.gif
