A client contacted me and asked me to do a kitsch cake for a competion at her church. I desperately need ideas as I like a challenge. The only thing kitsch I can think of is a plastic bridal couple on a wedding cake.

Does it need to be wedding-themed? I'm thinking pink flamingos, lawn elves, cupie dolls, dogs playing poker, plastic fruit, the felix cat clock with the eyes that go back and forth...lots of fun stuff! Good luck- be sure to post what you come up with!

the client has something hobo-ish in mind. Empty can's, graffiti. She wants and art piece, and I think she is missing the point as it is a competition for the most kitsch cake. I see plastic items, flowers etc. I will post a pic if I agree to do it.

this is confusing - what some people consider kitsch others may not.
And hobo-ish? I may have totally missed the point here. sorry - I'm no help, however I love the sound of a crazy kitsch cake. icon_smile.gif

That is exactly my point. some people may think it is class and for me it is kitsch.
