Have You Used Rolled Buttercream?

No one I know wants to try fondant so I gave rolled buttercream a look on a video. It looked like it would be more trouble than its worth & it didn't look that great on the cake. Has anyone tried it and could you tell me how it worked for you? Thanks

I use it on cookies, but haven't tried it on cakes. There is a book you might want to look at. Decorating with Rolled Buttercream Icing by Marsha Winbeckler.

I have heard it was a total PITA to use. I would like to try, but think I will try it with cookies first.

I was given the rolled Buttercream recipe by a friend, who said it was a fondant recipe. I loved the taste, so I tried it on a very tall cake, and it did not work well. It was very soft, and tore easily. I do love using it on cookies, because everyone loves the taste.
