I was asked by a local group to make king cakes.. the authentic recipe and the little baby inside the whole nine yards... I am from the west coast and am not all that familiar with the whole thing.. Does someone out there have a good recipe for this and could they please explain to me how to do these? I figured it was better to ask someone that may have done them before than to muddle my way through a recipe I found at random on the computer. Thank you in advance to any and all help icon_smile.gif
Sincerely,
Lynnette

I made a few last year and used the recipe from southern living, traditional king cake. I found it to be very much like a cinnamon roll.

I made it ring shaped and after it was baked but before putting the icing on it I stuffed the little baby into it.

here is the link to the SL recipie: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1152929
