I remember once there was a thread about cookies that look like scoops of ice cream. Can anyone direct me to it, or give me the recipe for that? I thought I saved it on my computer but I didn't!!
TIA

I couldn't find the thread. Maybe someone else can.
I think the thread was lost in the crash, but I did save the recipe.
2 cups butter, softened
6 egg yolks
5 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/3 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Mix the butter or margarine, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Add the flour and mix by hand.
Divide Dough and add color and flavors as you like.
Scoop dough with small ice cream scoop or cookie scoop.
Bake in preheated 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) oven for 7-9 minutes.
This made about 6 dozen cookies.
I should have given credit to the OP for the recipe: The recipe for the ice cream scoop cookies that I posted above was from Nikki1202.
I've used the NFSC cookies as well. It's not so much the recipe as the technique of scooping the cookies. I've never made them, but there is a chocolate version of the NFSC (subbing some of the flour for cocoa powder I believe).
I just had the cutest idea looking at these. What if you do the cookies that look like ice cream and decorate a mini ice cream cake that looks like cake or a slice of cake ....it would ice cream and cake but reverse.
I don't get to make too much stuff but I would love to do that as a kids party
Next question: how do I make it chocolate?
I didn't make any chocolate, but I did add flavoring and food coloring to make strawberry, lemon, etc. Sorry that I can't even tell you how much I used. I rarely follow a recipe to the letter or use exact measurements. I also used almond extract and bits of almonds to make an almond batch. I shaved chocolate and added that to another batch. That was a hit too. Oh, and Heath Crunch too. I did so many flavors with these.
