Sifting Question

This may seem like a dumb question, but here it goes!

I just started sifting my dry ingredients, but am I supposed to measure the flour (or other dry ingredient) before or after I sift it? It seems that there would be a larger volume after it is sifted.

Measure your dry ingredients and then sift , unless the recipe specifies otherwise. HTH
