I want to use live flowers on a cake in May. If I use flowers from Wal-Mart, how do I clean them? Or if I get them from the florist is there something I need to tell them? I would appreciate any answers you can give.
Thanks,

theres a lot of things related to real flowers! they need to be non-poinsonous, and shouldnt technically come into contact with the cake anyway (some waxed paper under tham is a good start). you might need to wire them too, and wrap the stem in florists tape. and they should be pesticide free. so finding a proper florists who can deal with all that stuff for you could be a good idea - i dont know how walmart flowers fit into that info.

on cake central in the article section there is a listing of flowers that are ok for cakes and what you should know and what you should ask for. Check it out
