My daughter LOVES Littlest Pet Shop toys... so I told her to pick out one of her figures and I'd make her cake look like one. They are little figures with big bobble heads so of course her cake had to have a bobble head too. I put a video of it up on YouTube and I'm posting the link because I said I would when I posted the picture. It's in my photos if you want to see it. The cake itself was 15" tall... Enjoy! icon_biggrin.gif

I would also love instructions. That is one cool cake. I'm glad my daughter is in bed when I just looked at your youtube video. My daughter has over a 170 of these pet shops . I made her the pet shop panda for her birthday and she is already talking about her next birthday cake.

It wasn't too hard to do. There is a wooden dowel coming from the base board (which is 1/2" plywood) that I screwed into place for stability. The head is also on an oval piece of 1/2" plywood with a 1 1/2 hole bored in the center to accomodate a flanged piece of PVC (I found it in the sink parts section at Lowes) with a cap on the end that I glued into place with PVC cement. The flange makes it so it won't slip right through the hole without any extra hardware. This tube with the cap will sit over the center dowel and allow the cake to wiggle side to side without wiggling too much (aka fall over).

I used a circle cookie cutter to core the cakes to fit over the center tube and stacked and filled them and slipped them onto the base and carved the crap out them. The ears are gumpaste which I made well ahead of time and the mouth area and the little tufts of hair on the side of the head I built up with fondant before covering it with the final layer of fondant (there are 2 layers so I would have something to attach the fondant build ups to and make for a smoother finish). The body I made with rice kispy treats and covered in 2 layers of fondant as well. The legs are fondant and the tail is gumpaste with a wire to support it while it dried.

I measured the figure and scaled them measurements up to what I needed so I would have a guide while carving and sculpting. I didn't really take notes whiel I was doing it, but if you have questions just ask. icon_smile.gif You do have to be sure to carve evenly so it's balanced.
