When I recently used wires on the top of my cake they wanted to spin around. Is there a certain way that you place the wires into the cake? Is it better to place them into fondant balls? Any suggestions would be appreciated as I really like this look.

I put coffee stir sticks or straws into my cakes and then insert the wires into them. If they are moving around you can melt some candy melts to keep them from moving around. HTH Jen

I use posy picks which I buy from a cake shop and I put a small piece of fondant in it to keep the wires in place.

Thanks everyone. I had used the straws. I tried stuffing fondant down them, but the candy melts is an awesome idea. Again THANKS!

I always use a posy pick to insert the wires in. When I don't have them, I use a drinking straw too! icon_smile.gif
