Hi everyone i have a cupcake tower to do in a few months and the bride wants butterflies. so far i havent had much luck making them look nice using just clay cutters so ive invested in PME plunger veined cutters to get more detail. my problem is how to you make them 3d? do you make the wings and stick them to the body? also how do you get a nice effect on the wings, do you paint or use petal dust? all my attempts at doing spots, etc look hideous. i really want that lovely realistic tinted look to the wings.

Thanks!!

Get in touch with bobwonderbuns on this site. He describes his method briefly but maybe he knows where to get a full description or can provide one. If he does I would like to make these beautiful butterflies.

Here's a thread I used when I wanted to experiment with gelatin flowers. You should be able to adapt it easily for the butterflies. (That cake is gorgeous!)
