Some good friends are moving to africa from texas, and I am making a cake for a goodbye party. It needs to feed around 70 people, so I was thinking about two tiered round cake, but would love some decorating ideas.

The only idea I have come up with so far is maybe the bottom tier do texas scenes(bluebonnets, flag, etc) and the top tier, do some african scenes. I really want to avoid using fondant, do you think I could do all that in BC?

Would love any other ideas!!!

Where in Africa are they moving to? That might help with scenery suggestions.

How about some hand made african animal figures for the top tier? Like elephants, rhinos, giraffes, gorillas, lions etc.

I know you mentioned preferring to do BC but you could do BC as the finish on the cake and use fondant or MMF accents.

Alternately you could do some animal prints on the top tier cut out from fondant on BC.
