Help With Red Food Coloring

What is the best red that I can use to get a true red color without distorting the flavor? I am making Elmo and I want to do hime justice!

I find AmeriColor to be great. Start by making the icing orange 1st, then add the red.

Is there a specific name or just "red"?

Anything w/the word 'super' in it is better.
