Hi. Does anyone ever use little parchment sheets for cupcake cups? If so, how do you do that and where do you get them? For some cupcakes it gives them a more refined look. I see them in some bakeries but don't know if the paper is folded in a certain way or what.

Martha Stewart had the owner of Sweet Revenge on her show recently and she showed how to do it. All you do is take a 5 inch by 5 inch square of parchment paper, center it over the cupcake well, then press it into the well with a small glass and twist it. It looked like sometimes you had to twist the glass a couple times to get the parchment to stay in the well, or you could kind of press it down with your fingers afterwards too.

Fancy flours sells them in different colours! They are very cute.

And the ones at Fancy Flours are apparently already "folded"!

I buy my Tulip Cups at Kitchen Krafts (50/$4.95), I only have the brown ones and I really like them a lot, they add something special to the presentation. I've only used mine for muffins, but now that I've seen the cc's in them on fancy flours I'm going to try them for that thumbs_up.gif It was mentioned in another post that things showed through the white too much and didn't look as nice, I migh have to try one of the other colors though.

are you baking directly in those or putting the wrapped cake in after baked?

You bake in them, they fit right in a standard cupcake/muffin pan. I do fill them more than normal so they bake up nicely, but like I said that was for muffins. For cupcakes I might use my regular scoop since there will be frosting added.

Yeah, I was thinking they would maybe be difficult to frost without getting it all over the paper
