Hi again,
I am making a purse cake for my son's girlfriends birthday.
This will be my first.
Now, I saw the directions on line, but does anyone have a fool proof template that they would be willing to share.
Handles, corners, zipper, and so forth.
I know there is about a million purses out there, but I'd love some help.
I am swamped this week!
I am the queen of winging it but..... I really want this to turn out great!
As always, any tips re greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, HoHo5

Here's my step-by-step for a diaper bag, which isn't too different from a purse. Just change up the shape a little:

The only thing that isn't clear is the zipper part. When I have my web dude update my website, I'll have him add this info, but for now, here it is -

I used the molding compounds from makeyourownmolds.com and molded a heavy jacket zipper with it. I use that mold for any zippers I need to make. I took off the zipper pull and molded it as well, and I add a fondant pull to the cake after the fondant zipper has been applied. If you don't have the desire to make a mold, or don't have enough time to make one, you can cut a strip of fondant and score it with a knife to simulate the teeth.

HTH,
Deanna
