Any chicago cc members going to ICES convention. Since I have to cut down on costs are there any eating areas we can walk to? Is the Charlestown Mall within walking distance?

How is the weather like during the ICES conference? If it is super hot and humid I may change my mind and go next year to the ICES Convention in San Diego?

The convention isn't really in Chicago. It's in St. Charles, which is about 45 miles west of Chicago. Yes, there are restaurants within walking distance of Pheasant Run. I go to a conference at Peasant Run every year. As a matter of fact, I'll be going next week for that conference.

Yes, it can be very very hot that time of year, but that's not a given. I live on the Illinois side of St. Louis. It's generally very hot and humid that time of year. However, it's usually about 10 degrees cooler that far north of us.

Edited to add: the Charlestown Mall is probably about a mile away, on the other side of a very busy road. There is a Super Target that is closer.
