I know this question has been posted before and I just can't find the answer. does anyone make the Sugarshack Buttercream in a 4 1/2 qt. KA mixer? what are the adjustments you made to the recipe? thank you for your help.

I make it with 4 cups of sweetex and 4 lbs of ps . . . the flavorings are variable with what u feel taste right HTH

Sugarshack's 4.5 KA ratio icing:

4 1/2 Cups hi-ratio shortening
4 Tbls flavoring
2 tsp salt
12 Tbls coffee creamer
4 lbs powderd sugar

I think 2 tsp. salt is an awful lot in the recipe stated above.....I can't find my recipe but I don't think Sharon even has salt listed as one of her ingredients. However, I DO prefer the flavor WITH salt as opposed to without.

For the 4.5 recipe I use 3/4 tsp. and that is plenty enough. I tried a full tsp. once and it was just too salty. Everyone that taste tested agreed, so I've cut it back to 3/4 tsp. Remember, you can always add more but you can't take it away. Also, make sure to dissolve it in your hot liquid mixture first otherwise it will be grainy and there WILL be bites where you're certain you're crunching on salt!
