I'm making a cake for my ds's basketball team...for tomorrow. I was going to make a 9x13 with a half ball pan on top. How many servings would this provide?

The thing is, we don't know how many people will be there. Last practice, there was 4 kids & 4 parents! Another practice there was all 13 players! So I'm hoping a one-layer 9x13 with the half-ball pan on top would be enough if all 13 players plus their parents came...

And I was going to make it look like a basketball in a hoop type thing...

I guess it would depend on how large you cut your slices.

Here's a couple of links that have some sheet cake serving sizes listed:

If you cut it 4 across and 6 down, that's 24 ... not counting making it smaller where the ball is, as that portion is a two layer cake. It should cover it if 13 kids and 13 parents show up (26).

(I'm curious why so many kids were absent from practice last time ...)

Thanks - I think I'm just going to make a 2-layer 9x13, just to be safe.

This will be our last practice today. I have no idea how many will show as it's February vacation for us right now. I'm thinking that some parents are just lazy & just don't want to bring their kids to practice since it's only the last few practices. There was just a handful of times where everyone actually came. The parents don't even stay for the practice! Only me and like three other parents are always there at the practices!

Well, wish me luck!
